Just the Ticket for London TransportThe impact of ticketing on London Transport is immense. It goes far beyond simply helping people get from A-B. A system that's constantly running calls for constant improvement, and nowadays, London Transport involves some of the very latest ticketing systems supplied by an EDS-led consortium: TranSys.This is a £1 billion deal, aimed at giving London the most advanced public transport ticketing systems in the world. Our brief is to boost revenues; reduce fraud; and make travel quicker and easier through the use of cutting-edge IT. The overhaul is comprehensive. EDS is at the forefront of delivering one of the largest smartcard projects in the world. Right from defining how the system will work, through to how we will implement it, manage it and make sure that the customer understands its benefits, EDS leads the way. In the short-term, we aim to reduce queuing. In the long-term, we'll settle for nothing less than improving the total experience of travelling in London. "In terms of facts and figures, we're taking the lead in putting more than five million smartcards in the hands of Londoners. EDS is developing the customer proposition, customer communications, research, public relations and managing the service. Basically, we're involved in the entire project lifecycle." Bill Thomas, Managing Director of EDS UK and TranSys Chairman Buying a ticket in the future will never be the same again. Isn't it time you got on board? |
